Microentrepreneur of the Year 2015

The prestigious title of “Microentrepreneur of the Year 2015” and a prize in the amount of 40,000 zlotys will be awarded to the winner of a poll aimed to select the most successful micro companies. The 11th edition of the competition, which is organized by the Kronenberg Foundation with the support of Citi Handlowy Bank, will be held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Janusz Piechociński.

The competition is open to companies that employ fewer than ten workers and whose annual turnover does not exceed € 2 million. The candidates will be evaluated in three categories: Start, Progress and Senior. The competition jury will also select the winner in a special category “Young Business”, open to successful entrepreneurs under the age of 30. Winners in each category will receive 10,000 zlotys.

The idea of the poll is to select those companies that function successfully in the market in spite of their small size, both in traditional business industries and in innovative areas. More than 2,000 firms have participated in the previous ten editions of the competition, and 103 micro companies have received awards.

Candidates can enter the competition by 20 April. The application form is available on www.mikroprzedsiebiorcaroku.pl. The awards will be presented during a gala at the Quotation Room of the Warsaw Stock Exchange on 23 June.

More than 170 companies run business activity within the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone, 40% of which belong to micro, small and medium-sized companies. To date, these SMEs have invested more than 1.5 billion zlotys and employ over 4,000 workers.
