Special economic zones in the new model of vocational education

Representatives of companies managing special economic zones in Poland met in order to discuss the ways of supporting investors in their search for skilled workers and ways of adapting education to the needs of employers. The meeting, which was held in the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone “INVEST-PARK” on 20 January, 2017, was attended by Minister of National Education Krystyna Zalewska and Grażyna Ciurzyńska of the Investment Policy Department, who represented the Ministry of Development.

Towards dual education

The introduction of the two-stage professional school, greater inclusion of employers in the process of teaching new jobs and devising new curricula, and the increasingly important role of careers advisors – these were the subjects raised by Jadwiga Parada of the Ministry of National Education during a meeting of Wałbrzych zone’s educational cluster. Toyota’s new investment

Around PLN 650 million will be spent by Toyota in the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone. The investment projects will be connected with launching the production of hybrid gearboxes and new petrol engines. As a result of the investment, the corporation has declared to generate at least 100 new jobs.

As many as 100 engineers could be employed at ifm ecolink’s Research and Development Center in Opole. During the ceremonious opening of the facility, the company signed a cooperation agreement with Opole University of Technology. The Sitech company is about to begin the production of car seats for Volkswagen in Września. Sitech’s facility is located in a production hall built by the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone in close proximity to the premises owned by the German motorization giant. Volkswagen’s subsidiary is going to employ over 80 people.

New jobs in the Wałbrzych zone

Over 400 jobs will be generated by 16 entrepreneurs who have decided to invest in the Wałbrzych zone in the first half-year of 2016. The ceremony of granting the permits to conduct business activity, accompanied by an official banquet, was held at the Książ Castle.
